Call me crazy, but after all these years, and how bad the ending was (mainly because it was rushed), unless they're adding to the story, I couldn't care less about this.
I totally understand your point. I also hope they will add stuff/fix the bad ending.

They're gonna have to fix a loooot of things. My biggest beef is that Ichigo and rukia need a lot more involvement together. They’re supposed to be the main relationship of the series, but they only talk once in the whole arc. They don’t even get a fight together.

I think they are their own characters and I'm glad that they got developed away from each other. Ichigo's challenges are not the same as the shinigami arc. TYBW focuses more on the relationship between him and his past. But I liked the fact that Rukia got her own development and touched on her own battles and with her zanpakuto.

That's what I like about them. Their relationship actually functions in a more believable way where they support each other and make each other a better person vs other manga/anime relationships where they can't live without the other person.

Additionally, the last arc is on ichigos past with his mom, but thats an important part of the story that rukia ties into since she's the origin story of his powers and told him to talk to her when he's ready to talk about his mom. The writing warants a lot more between them.

I hope the fully expand the TYBW arc with flashbacks to the original Gotei 13 and how Ywach was originally defeated. Bleach has so much lore and history that hasn't been shown that could made filler. Bleach could adapt novel CFYOW into filler. It basically the aftermath to TYBW before the time skip to Adult Ichigo. I am looking forward to see if they show the rise of the Light Empire to its defeat and how it lead to the future Quincy Massacre(making Quincy an endangered ethnic group) to rebirth of Quincy as the Invisible Empire.

Side note 1: Can someone clarify if there were any surviving Sternritters from the Auswaehlen?

Side note 2: We are over due for to Data books( Fullbring Arc and Bloodwar arc)

I really hope they add extra things in that kubo didn't have time to add himself, like Unohana's Bankai explanation, quincies actually using Blut Arterie, The Medalions and why it didn't work on Ichigo (maybe it had something to do with ichigo not having a proper Asauchi or Hollow powers blocking it?), longer battle that aren't cut short, an explination for Yachiru, isshin and rykuen fighting etc. Loads of stuff needs answers. Even though the ending sucked and this arc had so much missed potential, I doubt they'd rewrite anything or even the ending.

Also would be good to let another studio handle it and give us top notch quality animation to compensate for all the missed potential and bad ending. However, I doubt Pierrot would let go of Bleach's rights
..
I hope Kubo has more creative control or give detailed draft on how he wants the story arc told. Just like how Toriyama did with DBS.

Maybe with the break he can get back to/revisit his bleach and help the anime elaborate further on the story and the fights than what the manga showed. I have a feeling there's a lot more that he could have done and probably would have. I remain hopeful.

We don't know if Kubo would have time to work with the anime production to expand on the story from the manga. This is purely technical. The release date is yet to be revealed so we don't know if the studio even started working on it.

Kubo was working closely with the Burn the Witch director because that story needed to be expanded from the original one-shot, if we are to believe the summaries from the anniversary. Presumably, that kept him busy by now. It has been said that the manuscripts are done, but he still has to draw those manga chapters that'll be released on Summer.

Bottom line: it would be ideal if Kubo worked together with the anime team to expand the story, but we don't know if that would even be possible due to scheduling and other stuff.

It may be a spoiler for someone, so: It has been said, in CFYOW I believe, that Haschwalth's last order was directed to his aide to take the surviving Soldats and Sternritters to sanctuaries in the World of the Living.

This is an excerpt from the live streaming that gives an important clue:

Seirei55 said:
The anime was never canceled but Kubo needed a break and teased that he wanted 15 years but was told by his boss well not that long. The powers to be knew the anime would return; and the VA’s vowed to make it good.
I was sure that Tite Kubo has always been closely involved with the Bleach anime and this seems to confirm this. I think it is very likely that the last arc will be longer and more complete than the manga. The question is, how much longer.

@ ishida

I am sure we won't get another data book until the anime version of the last arc is out. Right now we don't even have any definite news about Ichigo's powers and he is the main character.

About the first question concerning the Sternritters after the manga:

As Polgarena said but I want to add a bit. By the way, these are strong spoilers for the latest novels that will get an English translation later this year:

Haschwalth gave the Quincy Lady (she also got no name in the novels) the order to save the Quincy survivors and they are now on the World of the Living. Father and son Ishida are the only Quincies left who have a complete Vollstaendig (and we don't know what it really is). If other Sternritters can be called alive or dead, maybe this is debatable. Some are still around.
