Welcome to the "Post of the Month" contest! The event that most of you remember is back, new and improved!

The contest basically works the same way, but there are some new changes to make the event more involving for everyone. The main differences now are that users can win more then once (with a limit) and that voting time has been greatly extended.

The objective of this contest is to reward those who make well thought out and constructive posts. So to get started, all you have to do is when you come across a post that you think is great, well written and deserves to be nominated, click on the post number and post the link here with why you would like to nominate it. After the month is over, we will make a poll that lasts for 10 days and a winner will be crowned!

Click here to vote or to see all the currently nominated posts for the month!

Here are the rewards you get for winning!

1. You are added to the POTM winners user group!
2. You will receive a Post of the Month winner icon badge (multiple winner's badge will change).

3. The ability to become invisible to other non-mod members.
4. Your user name will be in italics in all areas of the forums.
5. Increased avatar size.
6. Increased signature size.
7. Increased private message storage.

Read all the rules before participating in the contest!

Nomination Rules

  • You may not nominate your own posts.

  • You may nominate up to 3 posts per month.

  • Posts from the spam section or Bleach Data section are not eligible to be nominated.

  • Posts may only be nominated for the month they were posted in.

  • A post may be nominated more then once in a month, but that will not increase its chances of winning.

  • All users may be nominated, including moderators and past winners.
  • Nominations made after the month has ended for a post during that month will not count. (For example, a post made in September may be nominated only in September.)

  • A nominated post must be made completely by the poster. Posts made with parts by different users or quoted from another user/forums, may not be nominated.

Voting Rules

  • Voting for the previous month starts on the first day of the following month. For example, voting for the January POTM starts on February 1.

  • Voting lasts for 10 days.

  • Voting is multiple choice.

  • Voting is anonymous.

  • You may vote for yourself.

  • Vote only for the posts you actually think deserve to win. Voting for many nominations defeats the purpose.

  • You can now win multiple times. Multiple winners will receive a different badge for each time they win.

  • You will stay in the winners' group for 1 year after your last win. After that, you will be removed.

  • If you are removed from POTM after your 1 year is up and are added back in at a later time, you will considered a multiple winner still. (ex. if you were a 3 time winner when your year is up and you win again a few months later, you will be considered a 4 time winner and start in that group.)

  • In the event of a tie for first place, the winner will be determined by forum staff.
  • When the voting is closed, it's closed. Everyone has about 10 days, give or take a few hours, to vote. Please do not wait until the last minute to vote, and then complain to forum staff because you didn't get to vote.
  • We discourage politicking for votes. Those who vote should not feel pressured to vote for a particular post.

Let me add to this by explaining what makes a great post. :D

1. Clear and easy to read and understand: We aren't looking for dissertations here, just posts that effectively get the point across. "Write to express, not to impress."

2. Thought-provoking, with insight: Whether it's a particularly thorough chapter review or a unique perspective on a character or event, a nominated post should show that a great deal of thought went into it.

3. Polite and respectful in tone: Critique should be constructive, and posts should be respectful of their subject and their readers.

Nomination #1.

B. Haddrell is oft observant and analytical when writing each chapter review, her insight brings clarity, directive and tact to the mind of the reader when making discussion. Her criticisms are approached constructively when expressing dissent and overall each review is thought provoking.

Nomination #2.

pirateaddict is duly expressive when it comes to conveying her insight, with each of her chapter reviews never without substance; there is consistent sense of lightheartedness evoked through her words. pirateaddict is both sincere and genuine when expressing her ideas and they always manage to strike a thought each and every week.
