I started reading this yesterday, and I'm at chapter three currently. I am enjoying the series, and it's clearly influenced by Bleach somewhat.

Hopefully it survives cancellation.

I've read the first 12 chapters that were translated so far and plan to give them a chance one more time in order to pay more attention to details. The potential sure is there and I think that once the manga itself settles in and the pressure eases a bit (this is related to how, nowadays, stories have to have that cool factor from the beginning and a pace that grabs the readership's attention to avoid being cancelled), the author will have the freedom to develop the story further and enrich the characters.

As for the frequent comments that it reminds people of Bleach - some similarities are there for sure. Perhaps it's not exactly the story and the characters that feel directly inspired by Bleach, but the atmosphere.

Also, the figure behind the main characters from the opening double-spread always intrigued me. Until this moment, that is. I finally noticed the double set of eyes, which means that it's Sukuna.

[strike]Not that it makes any sort of difference, but it was recently revealed that Gege Akutami, the author of Jujutsu Kaisen is female: https://twitter.com/JujutsuKaisen/status/1019223953708146688
Fun fact : Gege Akutami author of Jujutsu Kaisen is actually a she.
She's[/strike] 26 years old and now I'm cheering for [strike]her[/strike] bright future and success. :)

So alongside artists of The Promised Neverland (Posuka Demizu) and Act-age (Shiro Usazaki) [strike]we have another woman in Shonen Jump. :D [/strike] Also, Kimetsu no Yaiba's author, Gotouge Koyoharu should also female, right?

Sorry, but that profile picture doesn't prove that Akutami is female author. There are several male authors who use female profile picture (like Totsuno Takahide (author of Alice to Taiyou)). Plus, Akutami used male profile picture in this one (bottom right corner). So, don't be fooled by the profile picture.

Ah, sorry about that; for some reason I thought that Twitter account was official without checking it first (and now that tweet has been deleted). Thanks for the clarification. :thumbs

After the latest batch of chapters, I'm REALLY enjoying this series. It got first in the ToC, and it's first volume sold over 30k and Jump ordered an emergency reprint, meaning it likely could have sold even higher.

Seems like it's here to stay.

Well, it is still too early to tell. If it dropped to last place, it'll still be in danger. So, we should wait and see more how this series will do in future.

I don't remember any of the first volume sales for the newer manga (most of which were cancelled), but I do remember that the first volume of The Promised Neverland was within or at least very close to selling 30 thousand copies. It would be great if Jujutsu Kaisen follows in TPN's trails in terms of sales and popularity.

Jujutsu Kaisen's still not a masterpiece, but the potential is there. It has met a good reception with the readers and now it has to uphold its position by offering story of good quality. I still think that certain parts are rushed through, but if it's given enough room to breathe it can be refined and developed further. :)

What I liked the most in the latest batch of translated chapters is Yuuji's training as well the concept of sorcery territorial expansion.
