(OOC: This a general play-time thread that is open to all Living World characters, though it is mainly intended for the group that has assembled at the Wolf Cafe, Raijo included, as he is the only Shinigami on sight at present. In the case of Alex Dupont, she may feel free to leave the Wolf and attend to the enemies because Nathaniel and Lilac will stay and defend the diner for her.)

Ferrets have a long and slender body covered with brown, black, white, or mixed fur. Average length is 20 inches, including a 5-inch tail. They weigh 1.5 to 4 pounds, with males substantially larger than females. Gestation is 42 days; litters are usually 3 to 7 young, but sometimes more. Females may have two to three litters annually. Young are weaned after 3 to 6 weeks and become independent at 3 months. Average life span is 8 years.

Mana Chisaki (NPC)

It was getting on toward mid-afternoon, and the day was remarkably pleasant, with clear blue skies and a shining sun high overhead, bathing the town in a perfectly bearable heat that was complimented with a light summer breeze. It was the sort of day that Mana Chisaki felt should be enjoyed to its fullest, rather than spent inside, wasting time on the computer or video games or reading text books for the up-coming college entrance exams (which should have been important, but Mana herself wasn't worried in the least; her grades were always pretty decent).

So, after making sure her appearance was satisfactory and the bow in her hair was straight, Mana Chisaki put her on her brightest, cheeriest smile and left her apartment, venturing out into the bright, sunny day. She had no particular destination in mind, and intended to simply go on a walk until she came across something that caught her interest or she found something fun to do. Twenty minutes later, the petite blond was walking down the sidewalk in the middle of the city when suddenly...her stomach began to growl quite loudly, causing Mana to immediately pause in her stride.

“Uh oh,” the girl murmured softly to herself, her cheeks tinted red with a light blush as she brought her hands up to cover her stomach, hoping to quiet the noises before anyone nearby happened to hear them. “I guess it must be getting on toward lunch time,” she reasoned, trying to decide if she should find a restaurant to eat at or return home and cook something herself.

Mana stood quietly, thinking to herself, her stomach still grumbling underneath her hands, for so long that everyone who passed by her on the sidewalk spared a moment to give her a concerned or questioning glance, or perhaps they were simply wondering what in the world was up with her taste in clothing and why was she wearing something so outlandish. But for her part, Mana was completely and utterly oblivious to the stares that she received. Even had she known, they still wouldn't have bothered her very much.

At last, her immediate and demanding hunger won her over, and she resolved to find a restaurant to eat at, since she would never make it home in time to fix herself something to eat before she starved to death, or so she believed.

Laughing cheerfully to herself at the thought of eating out, Mana began walking down the sidewalk again, though she failed to remove her hands from her growling stomach, and thus, she drew even more stares of confusion and concern; a laughing girl holding her stomach? But again, Mana paid them no attention as her azure-blue eyes glanced eagerly around at her surroundings, searching for any nearby restaurants, food carts, or any place that served food. No sooner had she started searching than she suddenly realized she'd just started passing by a diner; The Wolf.

“Oh, what do we have here?” the question left her lips as she immediately paused mid-step, her white-shooed foot hanging in the air as she glanced over the diner. Smiling, she finished her step and spun around to face the Wolf, her flowing clothing rustling briefly from her turn before settling on her delicate form again. “I've never been to this place before, and trying new places to eat is always fun, so I think I'll just go in here and...” Mana trailed off just as she was raising her hand to open the door.

“What was that?” the girl dropped her hand to her side as she slowly turned around, looking out at the city that surrounded her. A foul, foreign reiatsu brushed against the edges of her senses, and it made her feel slightly sick inside; an enemy was near...no, several enemies were near, but where where they? She couldn't quite get an accurate fix on them.

“Darn it,” Mana sighed, her slender hands clenching into fists at her sides. “I was really hoping for a nice lunch and a pleasant conclusion to this beautiful day...but if there really is trouble somewhere near here, then I can't just ignore it.”

(OOC: At this point, assuming Raijo is still inside the Wolf Cafe, his soul pager will receive a new order from the Soul Society, and at least 5 Hollows will be displayed in their general location within the city. Any and all who are still inside the Wolf Cafe may either sense these enemies, or notice Mana hovering outside, and inquire as to what's going on. More enemies can be added, if more than a handful of characters join the thread, but I may require additional help in managing so many enemies.)

Raijo was in a state of pure bliss. He had accidently drifted into the beautiful sensation of sleep, while talking to some humans. He was in the only place where he didn’t have to do anything. He felt so free. The dream itself was what made it totally worth the embarrassment.

He dreamed of a beautiful sea of clouds. All of the floating, fluffy, white bundles of water floated in a perfectly silent way with no destination. They just floated because it was all they wanted to do. No one forced them too. They just did it. There was no noise here, only the sweet sound of silence that any sleeping man craves. It was any slumberer’s paradise.

Raijo himself was having the time of his sleeping life. He lay down on a cloud as it drifted with the rest of them. A content smile was on his face. He had his arms behind his head with one leg resting on top of the other. He had always wanted to feel like this. He was finally at peace. A silent sigh escaped from his mouth. All was well…..but then an outrageously loud vibrating sound ran through the field of clouds. Dream Raijo’s eyes snapped open in panic, as all of the clouds dispersed and the dream ended on a sour note.

Raijo’s real eyes would snap open in a sort of panicky way. His mind needed a moment to process all that was going on around him. Raijo’s eyes would look around wildly to gather information on his current situation. His eyes fell on the people standing in his immediate line of sight. Two men. He would reach up one hand to feel the strange soft object behind his head. Where’d I get a pillow? he thought after verifying that it was indeed a pillow.

Raijo would then feel a strange feeling in the area around his right thigh. What in the world? Reaching into his pocket, he felt a small, rectangular, and metallic object. Grabbing it and removing it from his pocket, Raijo looked at the small cell phone like device. What’s this? Oh yeah my Hollow Doohickey. Huh. Looking to his left he saw a glass of warm milk that looked relatively untouched. “Oh boy.” Raijo said excitedly. Reaching up, he grabbed the glass, and then brought it to his face in order to take a long sip from it. While taking said sip, he took another glance at his Doohickey and his eyes fell on the screen which showed five red dots in a series of locations across the town. Hm. Must be hollows. He would then proceed to take another sip from his drink.

After a few seconds of his brain finally clearing out the last of the sleep fog, Raijo’s eyes would widen as he comically spewed out his milk directly in front of him. HOLLOWS?! Leaping to his feet with a speed that didn’t fit a man who had just woken up from a nap, Raijo bolted towards the entrance to the restaurant.

Bursting into the outside world, Raijo would squint a little at the direct sunlight, but ignore his discomfort. Looking to his left, he saw a human girl hovering at the entrance to the café and look at her appearance. “Nice hair bow” he would say before quickly shunpoing away.

On top of a building on a few blocks away, Raijo would reappear in a sort of blur. Looking down at his hollow tracker, which was in his right hand he confirmed that this was the place where one of the hollows was lurking. Looking around, he readied his sword which was in his left hand. This is gonna be a long day.

ooc: I am pretty sure Alex would have exited the cafe without Raijo having to push her aside.

It is incredibly difficult to react to your character randomly deciding to wake up or fall asleep without proper interaction with other characters - please could you reduce the amount of 'fainting' spells to presumably avoid RP'ing with us.

Also, if you actually want to cause damage to things or people, I'd really prefer if you ASKED the person first before drafting the post. So no, I do not agree with this. Please remove the random destruction of the cafe walls.

...

The prickly feeling was unusual enough to make her feel extra cautious. After exiting the cafe, the Quincy made sure to look left and right carefully, checking for any suspicious presences before turning her attention further away.

There was a petite blonde girl standing a short distance away, also looking outward, her posture tense. Another person who could sense supernatural things? There was only one way to find out. The Quincy approached the girl, raising a hand in greeting.

"Hey, name's Alex. How are ya?" Alex introduced herself. "Watcha lookin' for?"

Fell Westwood

It was day... she had forgotten what day... of her investigation of the Wolf Cafe. Fell had been on this apartment building rooftop syping on the cafe for so long that even the pigeons had grown tired of her. Before they used caw playfully when she would appear and appease them with some bread crumbs. Now they would just sort of scowl at her. She was now certain that she disliked pigeons.

On this particularly slow day of surveillance, Fell had dozed off with her tablet pc on her lap. Her head had come to rest on the brick ledge she typically hid behind to give her the best concealed view of the cafe entrance. Her shoulders slowly rose and fell while she snoozed in the sun. Fell was rudely awakened when a pigeon pecked her head for no conceivable reason and flew off before she could swat it.

Bastard... she thought through a stifled yawn while she rubbed the big red mark across her forehead caused by the ledge-come-pillow. The rooftop was quiet and empty since it seemed the pigeons were done messing with her for the day. She glanced down at the cafe entrance while wiping away a sleepy tear. "Who's visiting today..." she mumbled, noticing only a girl rubbing her stomach who seemed to be contemplating lunch.

I should get something to eat to... she yawned again, consulting her tablet for the time. The cafe owner emerged whom Fell recognized well by now. Nothing unusual yet. Then suddenly, a strangely dressed being burst out of the cafe and went leaping off. Fell mistook him for a cosplayer for a moment until she realized his appearance was slightly hazy to her. "Could that be...!?"

Mana Chisaki (NPC)

Mana was so preoccupied with the awful foreign energy that was making her feel slightly nauseas that she failed to notice yet another foreign presence that was fast-approaching the diner door behind her. Someone opened the door, and in their haste, they hurriedly rushed past Mana, bumping the girl aside and nearly knocking her off her feet. She gave a startled squeak and stumbled awkwardly a few steps before miraculously managing to regain her balance and avoid falling flat on her face. Breathing a sigh of relief, Mana turned around to see who had come outside.

Immediately, she could feel that the man facing her was not human. He had foreign energy as well, though his did not feel evil or hostile, and it actually managed to push back the other evil energy, so that Mana did not feel quite as ill as she had only a moment ago. Whatever the man may have been, he was dressed rather oddly, though Mana was hardly one to talk since she had a pair of white angel wings sewn onto the back of her shirt. For a long moment, the man watched her, and she watched him, unsure of what to say, and then the man spoke.

He complimented the bow in her hair, and then vanished in the blink of an eye, leaving Mana bewildered and wondering if perhaps she had only imagined the black-clad stranger. 'How strange...his energy felt real, and he looked real, but was he...?' she wondered to herself, blinking gently.

The petite blond was roused from her thoughts as another woman came out of the diner. She glanced around, before spotting Mana, and Mana froze up, wondering if this was another ghost like the man from before. 'Uh oh. What should I do?' she scrambled frantically to think of something.

However, far from doing anything scary, the woman calmly approached her, waving a single hand in some form of greeting. At seeing this, Mana relaxed visibly, breathing yet another sigh of relief, her shoulders sagging with the motion. Mana raised azure-blue eyes to look up at the woman as she stopped near her, and then offered up her name before asking if Mana was okay and if there was something that she was searching for. In response to the inquiries, Mana really wasn't sure where to begin.

“Good afternoon, Alex,” the girl greeted, bowing her upper body forward so that she showed the woman the utmost respect, before standing straight again. “My name is Mana, Mana Chisaki, and I'm glad that you happened to come along,” she explained calmly, her expression suddenly turning from pleasant to an odd mix of frantic and serious.

“I...I thought that I felt something evil nearby, or rather...multiple sources of evil. Definitely something that does not belong in this world! And then, just before you came outside, this guy ran out and I think he wasn't human either! I think he was a ghost, but a nice ghost, because he complimented me on my hair bow and then poof! He just vanished into thin air! I hope I'm not seeing things,” Mana explained in a hurried rush as she frantically waved her arms about as if to articulate each event she described. “To be honest, I have no idea what's going on here...” the blond finished, sighing quietly.

Having finished her rapid explanation, Mana lowered her arms to her sides and looked up at Alex again, wondering if the woman believed she was crazy. “Whether you believe me or not, something is definitely out there, and it doesn't feel good at all,” she murmured quietly, pointing outward toward the city where the evil energy seemed to be emanating from.

Sadira (@Raijo)

“Kufufufufufufu~” A strange, eerie laugh resonated from behind Raijo as a dark shadow suddenly towered over him from behind. “Oh, what have we here? A lone Shinigami out to play?”

Not ten feet behind Raijo stood a massive brown ferret Hollow that had reared up so that it was standing on its hind-legs, its massive, long fluffy tail swaying lazily back and forth behind it. The Hollow's mask covered what would have been an incredibly cute ferret face, letting only dark black eyes shine through as they observed the Shinigami with evident glee.

“I'll happily play with you~” the Hollow exclaimed in a chiming, excited voice, her tail wagging faster as she spoke in that same strange, eerie voice. “But you really should have brought more Shinigami with you because it's not just me here, but all of my siblings as well. Kufufufu~”

Without further warning, and despite her massive size, Sadira almost elegantly spun around and quickly brought her tail around in a spinning tail-whip attack that was meant to effortlessly swipe Raijo in the area of his mid-section and send him flying off the rooftop if he was not quick enough to dodge the attack.

Nadira (@Fell)

As the undertaker was currently preoccupied with watching the diner, something big and heavy and solid suddenly slammed into the roof just a few yards behind her, shaking the entire structure of the building; it was a small wonder the roof did not collapse inward and the building didn't crumble under the vicious impact.

Aaaarrrrwwooooooooo!~” the second ferret Hollow howled as if it were trying to sing very, very badly, possibly doing so just to scare the surrounding humans and gain their attention, if only to scare them out of their wits.

“My, my, my, what a tasty-looking morsel I seem to have found,” the ferret Hollow, Nadira, playfully licked her bone-white, masked lips as she intently eyed the young undertaker upon the roof. “And what luck, this morsel isn't alone,” she added, momentarily glancing down and across the street at where Alex and Mana were standing.

“This will be a delicious feast~” Nadira exclaimed, chuckling evilly to herself, before she suddenly lunged forward to try and snap her massive jaws at Fell.

Fell

Fell was suddenly spurred into action when the black garbed being went leaping off to the rooftops. Was this it? It had to be. That had to be a shinigami! She bungled her tablet pc into her satchel bag and rose to a semi crouched state, all thoughts of stealth momentarily abandoned. "I have to make contact!" she squeaked. She was about to set off for the stairwell when the roof suddenly shook, catching her mid-stride and causing her to stumble forward. Her shoulder collided with the roof ledge and she cursed under her breath before the sudden quake shocked her mind to the present.

What a time to have an earthquake!

A deafening roar behind her quickly eliminated any thoughts about earthquakes however. Fell froze as a chill ran up her spine, and she began to turn, slowly, tentatively like a damsel in a horror movie. The massive hollow slowly crept into her peripheral vision until her view was filled with it. Although it looked very different from the diagrams in Undertaker manuals, there was no mistaking what that monstrous white mask meant.

"A h-hollow!" even though she had trained for this moment, lectures and the real thing were very different. She stood still while the hollow threatened her. The words barely registered in her mind as she was more taken aback that the monster could speak. She wanted to command the creature to stay back but before the words could even reach her throat, the beast lunged at her. She screamed rather embarrassingly and leaped for the fire escape, which was a pre-planned exit strategy in case the Wolf Cafe owner ever came after her in her surveillance position.

The seconds it took for her to reach out and grab the steel hand rail felt like they took forever. The only thing she could hear was her breathing and her heart which seemed like it was beating in her skull. She felt the ground beneath her feet faintly tremble as the creature bounded after her. Her entire back crawled like in a nightmare, sensing as though the monster was reaching out, only millimeters from clutching her. She yanked herself onto the steel catwalk and missed a step.

Suddenly the world was spinning and she tumbled. Each painful bounce on each steel step felt like someone punching her on each part of her body she landed on. She toppled down several steps before she finally slammed to a halt in the turn. Her head snapped back and slammed against the railing, giving her a thorough jolt. The world rang and everything blurred.

Why the hell am I running...?

The smack to the head jolted her out of her panic and she turned a dizzy gaze upward to the roof ledge she had leaped from. Without thinking further, she pulled her gun from her jacket lining. The tool clicked in her grasp and her amulet rotated in its interface, glowing softly to show the weapon was now active. The smell of incense filled the air and helped Fell focus. With barrel trained on the ledge, she pulled herself to her feet, ready to unleash a rain of shots on the first mask she saw poke its visage over that rooftop edge.

Raijo Tetsuko

As Raijo stared at his Hollow Doohickey, he sighed. I leave for a vacation, and then a swarm of hollows attack. Typical. He would sigh once again as he looked from left to right in order to survey the area in front of him. Not being pleased with the lack of Hollows in his sight, Raijo looked down back at his Hollow Tracker to see if the Hollow had moved. The device still clearly showed a large red dot in this area, but wouldn’t show the specific location of the beast. This thing must be on the fritz. Note to self: Get a new one from the Twelfth Division. Wait. If this hollow isn’t in this area then maybe it’s somewhere else, or maybe the map is bugged, or-

“Kufufufufufufu~” A strange, eerie laugh resonated from behind Raijo as a dark shadow suddenly towered over him from behind. “Oh, what have we here? A lone Shinigami out to play?”
Or maybe it’s behind me. Raijo would sigh yet again. All this sighing was starting to become a bad habit.

Doing a quick one eighty, he turned to face the creature who had spoken. The sight that greeted him was a strange. It was definitely a Hollow. No mistaking that mask, or its spirit energy, but it just didn’t look as threatening as it sounded. It was a large, rodent-like….thing with brown fur. A hollow’s a hollow I guess.

As the Raijo stared at the creature, who had said something about siblings in its creepy yet adorable girl voice, he slipped his left hand which held his Hollow Thingy into his pocket and brought it back out empty-handed and gripped the hilt of his sword. Raijo would relax his muscles in order to dodge any sudden attack.

Said attack came in the form of pirouette –like leap courteasy of the hollow. Kind of graceful Raijo offhandedly thought. Raijo’s eyes would widen as he looked slightly to the left and noticed the hollow's tail poking out as if she were going to smack him with it. Uh oh. Quickly disappearing out of the way of the attack, Raijo would appear ten feet further away from where he stood previously with a grin on his face and his sword held in just his right hand. Gotta love Shunpo. “ Nice try….uh….Weasel?” Raijo said in a confused voice.

The other woman introduced herself as Mana with a full-on bow - who the **** bowed nowadays? - before nervously describing a list of strange happenings. Well, strange for someone who didn't know about a Shinigami passerby and random Hollow attacks.

"Mana, ya ain't seeing things." Alex reassured the other blonde. "That ghost is a Death God, he happened to, uhm, drop in. Sleepin' most of tha' time, then he ran out." She shrugged eloquently, having made every effort to offer updated information about this shinigami but could not say anything besides 'faints alot'.

Mana Chisaki said:
“Whether you believe me or not, something is definitely out there, and it doesn't feel good at all,” she murmured quietly, pointing outward toward the city where the evil energy seemed to be emanating from.
Alex looked out in the direction to where Mana pointed, nodding in agreement. "Yep, ya got it. There's somethin' out there."

She frowned into the distance, trying to judge the prickly presences in the distance. One single enemy? Or multiple? How strong was it?

To be perfectly honest, she couldn't help but wonder if the shinigami they had just been discussing would faint mid-fight. However, she could not spare the time or effort to oversee someone who would - logically - was more than able to protect themselves quite easily.

There were civilians after all. Especially one more civilian who could sense the supernatural.

"Mana, can ya fight against these... things?" Alex asked cautiously, wondering if the other woman would be an asset or someone who needed protecting. "Fine if ya wanna sit it out. Go into tha' cafe, find Nat. Tell him I sent ya in and to sit tight."

Something howled, nearby. Alex looked up and around sharply, trying to pinpoint the danger.

Mana Chisaki (NPC)

“Well, that's certainly a big relief. I mean, at least I know I haven't completely lost my mind,” Mana said, sparing a brief moment to breathe a tentative sigh of relief. 'Even though I'm still not sure what a Shinigami is...and we still don't know what it is that's out there causing trouble,' she thought to herself in her mind. At the very least, the Shinigami could wait until after the battle at hand.

And by this point, Mana was pretty sure there was going to be some type of battle.

The other blond woman, Alex, was quick to confirm this for her. Mana snapped to attention as Alex glanced at her and asked if she was capable of fighting whatever was out there in the city. Alex was equally quick to tell her that it was okay if she would rather go inside the diner and wait it out, and the woman referred her to someone named Nat, possibly one of Alex's employees from the sound of it. But Mana straightened her back and shook her head gently.

“While I greatly appreciate your concern for my safety, Ma'am, I am afraid that I must decline the offer for shelter,” Mana stated, and while her tone was assuredly determined, she remained conversationally polite as well. “I may not appear to be suited to battle, but I can assure you that I can fight and I can also provide support as well. I promise that I will be an asset, not a burden.”

However, before their conversation could continue, there came a startling, blood-chilling howl that sounded very near to them. The howl was sufficient to startle Mana, and the girl jumped softly, her head turning this way and that way as she desperately tried to locate whatever it was that had made such a sound. Indeed, after she heard it, she could feel that the source of the negative energy was close by, perhaps preparing to attack them while they were distracted.

“Asutoraru Yumi,” she called softly, holding her hands up as the golden bow formed within her hand, her other hand drawing back the string as a golden arrow with a sharp pink heart appeared on the bow, already knocked and ready to be aimed at the first sign of trouble.

'Nobody is going to die while Mana Chisaki is here to help,' she declared to herself as she turned around and moved back to back with Alex, her blue eyes searching their surroundings for trouble...and trouble was exceedingly quick in finding them.

Ladira (@Alex and Mana)

A third, massive Ferret Hollow, boring their signature white mask over its would-be cute face, came hopping (yes, hopping) down the center of the road, shaking the nearby buildings and rattling the sidewalks, as well as setting off every single car alarm along the way, as it made its way toward Alex and Mana, its large tail wagging in eager glee.

“Oh, boy,” the Hollow exclaimed, revealing its sharp jaws in a grin as it watched the girls, “and here I thought my sisters were going to have all the fun today. But here I've found two tasty-looking snacks. One of them is even wrapped up in a nice little bow for me. This is awesome!” it shouted, slamming its tail down on the street hard enough to crack the concrete and create a deep, spreading fissure that snaked its way toward Alex and Mana.

“Look out, girls,” Ladira taunted, baring his fangs in another grin. “Here I come!” and with that, the Ferret Hollow hurled himself upward and forward in a leap that carried him toward the girls as if he intended to come down on them and crush them flat.

Sadira (@Fell)

“Oh, poo,” the Hollow lamented, watching as the young woman she had been targeting managed to make a leap over the side of the building and presumably land on the fire escape on side of the building. However, judging from the multiple slams and bangs that issued afterward, Sadira was able to make the assumption that her target was falling down the escape, rather than climbing it.

“Ah well, that's all right, I suppose. I don't mind if the fruit is a little bruised just because someone dropped it...or rather, because it dropped itself,” she mused to herself, walking across the rooftop and looking over the ledge to see what had become of the young woman who'd tried to flee.

But just as she peaked over the ledge, she was forced to sharply jerk her head back in order to avoid taking what would have been a very neat and easy head-shot, the bullet glancing off the ledge and knocking a few crumbs of concrete free. Sadira hissed, and with a mighty swing of her tail, she crushed the side of the building in an attempt to send the entire fire escape crumbling down toward the street below.

All that mattered to her was the soul. Not the state of the package that it came in.

Nadira (@Raijo)

“Tch, damn it,” Nadira hissed, not pleased that she had failed to hit the Shinigami with her tail. “I'd forgotten just how quickly you little gnats could move...” she grumbled, grinding her jaws.

The Shinigami, her snack, appeared a short distance away, and turned to face her. Nadira's mood only worsened considerably when the man grinned and called her a weasel. A weasel! Her!? Just how insulting could the Shinigami be!? The Hollow stamped all four of her paws and flung her tail about viciously, hissing and growling at him as she let her anger out.

“I am NOT a weasel, you fool!” she shouted, her dark eyes fixing on the Shinigami. “I am a ferret. Can't you tell by how much cuter than a weasel I am? Well, then, I'll teach you,” she promised, opening her mouth as a brilliant sphere of crimson reiatsu gathered between her jaws. Only a moment later, the Hollow fired the laser-like Cero at the Shinigami.

Fell

Fell saw the grotesque head peak over the edge and she let fly. Unfortunately the creature sensed the danger and evaded at the last moment.

Shit! I need to be faster....

There was a tense moment of quiet in the standoff as Fell could no longer see the hollow, she just knew it was there.

C'mon you ugly-

Her internal cursing was interrupted by a thunderous crash coming from above. To Fell's dismay, the ledge and part of the building roof and wall was obliterated and the debris came tumbling down towards her. The fire-escape creaked and groaned, steel squealing in protest as it began to buckle and give way as its anchors to the building came undone under the weight of the falling brick and mortar. Fell was in a bad position, she was still high up on the steel catwalk, barely one floor down from the building's roof. She cursed and held on to the railings for dear life. Her world began to tilt and the inevitable horror of her perch crashing down became more and more real. Still clutching the steel bars she looked down franctically. The other building was too far to jump to, and the falling debris was destroying any nearby landing spot that she may have been able to jump to.

Shit! shit shit shit shit

She looked down to the empty alley and the only thing she could see was a large full garbage container that someone had left open.

Oh God...

There was nothing for it. Without further hesitation although not without a great deal of reluctance, Fell jumped. The fall was surreal as pieces of rock and wall matched her pace around her. The rising of her stomach in freefall was sudden, but not as sudden as the landing. She turned her back and landed butt first into the heap of trash bags in the heaped container. The immediate end to the fall left her breathless, but she was all to aware in the moment she hit the trash bags which broke her fall, they all ruptured, sending their fluid content spraying everywhere. Fell scowled and froze in a strange mummy-like pose.

Oh God.... it's on my face....

Despite the peril of her situation she could have given up on life right there but she forced herself up. She wobbled and tripped a bit through the broken trashbags until she reached the edge of the steel trash container and toppled out. She coughed and spluttered before looking up to take stock of her situation. She couldn't see the hollow just yet but she was sure that it would followup soon enough. Scrambling to her feet, Fell trained her weapon roof-ward, took a breath to steady herself and immediately gagged when she caught a whiff of the garbage juice that now saturated her clothes and hair. The trash had clearly been marinating in the sun for a while.

Having overcome her bout of revolted coughing , she scanned her surroundings. The adjacent building appeared to be some kind of disused factory or warehouse.

I have to get the upper hand somehow....

She shoulder charged the closed door, which easily resisted her efforts, sending her bouncing back on her behind. She struggled up and gave the lock 3 shots from Epitaph. The barring mechnism exploded and she gave the door a swift kick, sending it flying open to reveal the dark, dusty interior of the factory which seemed to have done some sort of clothing manufacture. Fell gave one last look at the rooftop before stealing into the building, disappearing into the darkness.

Come and get me you bastard...
