Haha 😆 I know JH isn’t but wasn’t sure about comic book. I guess we should just have patience for the return if it happens or not
I remember one case connected to the fan-translation of CFYOW, but I don't remember the details. I've just skimmed through their site and with all due respect, they seem to collect topics from other sources regardless of those sources being reliable or not.

Patience and support (buying merchandise, collecting manga volumes and anime discs) are the best course of action in this case.

I mean, Bleach anime returning is not out of the realm of possibility. Shokugeki no Soma got its final arc animated even though the final arc was poorly received. There are also other examples where completed mangas are receiving anime adaptations (Gunjou no Magmell for example if I'm not mistaken).

Yeah the ending was rushed and they skipped a lot of things, but they would obviously fix that in the anime.

I have just posted this text in Bleach Reddit. I am bracing myself for some strong reactions but maybe this text will start an interesting discussion.

********

My posting will not be universally popular but here are my views:

This is the situation when it comes to the last arc: Everything that happened so far in Bleach led into this climax. The story is complex with a lot of layers. It is a gritty, realistic look at war and conflict in general. People are being hurt and killed. People suffer more intensely that what we usually have seen.

Trying to censor it would do the story a disservice, most of the time. I don't have a problem with people falling in battle, losing limbs, even being tortured by an enemy. It is part of the horror of war. What I have a problem is when despicable crimes happen that are shrugged off or otherwise excused (definitely Mayuri) or become part of the identity of the characters that turns a lot of people into fans of them. I am talking about the Femritters.

I am sure, Bambietta sexually assaulting a male soldier and murdering him, something that obviousy happened frequently and the other girls did similar things for their amusement, this can't be softened with camera tricks. My point also has been that if the roles were reversed, if a group of boys would sexually assault and murder female soldiers, there would be much less acceptance.

These girls became main characters among the Wandenreich Quincies. They turned Bambietta into a zombie by murdering her and they kept torturing her. Maybe this is acceptable in a Japanese audience but not internationally. This would put people off, seriously. And I really, really don't want to see the horror show about Mayuri's new Bankai animated!

The last arc needs to be rewritten. What Tite Kubo had to cancel because of his health issues should be added. Other additions should also be included, making good use of this opportunity. And some scenes need to be cancelled or changed.

This means Tite Kubo would need to invest a lot of time into this project. Unless I am mistaken, I believe Boruto is following the pattern that the series has to be ongoing, no breaks allowed, similar to when Bleach the anime was still running. Especially when it comes to the last arc, this would not work well. Now that I am reading the Boruto manga I can see clearly that some stories are definitely filler. Nothing against a good filler but the recent Boruto filler with several parts really put me off.

If/When Bleach the anime returns, it will only work well in seasons so that everybody can spend all the time needed. Big, hasty fillers would not be necessary. What is filler, what is original would become fluid and this is how it should be in the last arc. If done right, the last arc could be a masterpiece. I am not giving up hope that it will happen one day.
I 100% disagree. A character doing gross or despicable acts does not means it must have some message. It just puts the character how it is. You may like them you may hate them. Bad people do evil things. Censoring is NEVER the way.

Softening villain characters just makes them bland. Let them be. There are people who love villains and get bored with heroes. And a villain is much more than "me edgy, me kill, me destroy". Imagine if Goblin Slayer had done such a thing? Sure, some soft people might have gotten offended but for god's sake you can't catter every product to some sensitive people. Goblin slayer kills goblins because they are filthy disgusting killers and rapist. Without that, he could be just a bloodthisty killer decimating small and uncomprehended creatures... No! Please don't. Never soft any "crude" scenes, never. You don't have to like it, neither do I nor anyone. Just let them be. They are part of a character, not something the author is telling you that's o'right to do.

We won't agree about this but nevertheless, I want to write a comment.

When I want pure realism I watch the news. But even when you do this, also the news is not showing everything.

Some news channels show more than others but in general, you won't see beheadings and the bloody gory details of bombings like torn off limbs and mangled bodies also showing the faces. I don't want to see it and I don't need to see it. I believe it is voyeuristic, like when atrocities are filmed by a bystander, uploaded online and a huge amount of people watch it until it is removed for good. It is in bad taste and also shows a lack of respect for the victims. The news usually blurs out faces of victims, as it should be.

When I watch a series for entertainment I want a balance. As I said, I think Bleach got this balance right, at least most of the time. But, no, also because I am a mother, seeing babies turned into weapons and tortured when Mayuri used his new Bankai, I found it sickening in the manga and I am not looking forward seeing it in the anime if/when it returns.

In early Bleach Tite Kubo told us about the atrocities Mayuri committed against his Quincy test subjects. We got a page showing Mayuri telling a horrified Ishida about it and showing him the photo of Soken's severed head. This was enough to bring the horror across and showing us what kind of monster Mayuri is. Later flashbacks consist of a picture showing a wrapped up body with Mayuri and others standing around it. I did not need to see these experiments, seeing how Soken ended up like this with all the blood and gore and watching these butchers taking pleasure from it.

This is the page from the Mayuri vs. Ishida story I was talking about. It is missing in the anime:

(Chapter 123: Pledge my Pride to)

I think this is the best example in Bleach by bringing across the horrors of war and violence in general without showing the details:

(Chapter 500: Rescuer in the Deep Dark)
